Appendix 7: About the Carbon Coalition

The Carbon Coalition Against Global Warming is the advocacy group seeking the right of primary producers to:

• trade the credits they can earn by ‘growing’ carbon in their soils
• offset their emissions from livestock and fertiliser usage that remain after best practice has been achieved, and to be
• fully engaged and not marginalised in the issue of climate change and adjustment to new conditions.

550 members across Australia, including farmers, scientists, extension officers, industry association executives, consultants, etc.

Founded February 2006.

Organised “Building Bridges” Meetings Between Carbon Farmers and Soil Scientists: Dubbo, March 2007, and Orange, June 2007.

Organised the world’s first Carbon Farming Expo & Conference, 16th-17th November 2007 at Mudgee NSW, with 400 delegates from every State and NZ.

Organising Inaugural World Congress of Soil Carbon & Climate Change, to be held in Columbus, Ohio, 2008
